In addition to writing the libretto for THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES, Ms. Margid has worked extensively as a director, producer, and dramaturg. She has directed a wide variety of classical, musical, and original work for, among others, The Yale Repertory Theatre, Lincoln Center Directors’ Lab, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Hangar Theatre, Soho Rep, New Georges, 78th Street Theatre Lab, Kitchen Theatre, Edinburgh Festival, NYU’s Musical Theatre program, New Dramatists (where she served as a Resident Director), and Fordham University, where she heads the Directing Program. As a dramaturg/director, Ms. Margid was instrumental in the creation of A VISIT FROM THE FOOTBINDER, an original musical adapted from a story by Emily Prager that was developed through the BMI Workshop, Goodspeed Opera, and Lincoln Center Directors’ Lab, and which won a Jerry Bock New Musical Award. She is a two-time recipient of the New York State Council on the Arts’ Artistic Associate Grant.
